Miss Honduras 2014 Maria Jose Alvarado (pictured above) has been missing since last Thursday Nov 13th. Maria, 19, who was due to fly to London this past Sunday to join other
contestants for the 2014 Miss World pageant, vanished along with her sister, Sofia, after attending a friend's party that Thursday night in Santa Barbara, Honduras. The two sisters have not been seen or heard from after they said goodbye to other friends at the party.
Four people, including Sofia's sister (the sisters pictured above), the owner of the venue the party held have so far been arrested as they were the last people to see them alive. But the men deny any involvement in their disappearance.
Pedro Sula city in Honduras, which is very close to Santa Barbara, is the murder capital of the world with more than 1,200 killings a year among its one millions inhabitants.
